You can expect faster Blu-ray burners

Thanks to Sharp's improvements.

Sharp's development, the last March announced diodes allow six times the speed when writing Blu-ray discs. Series production of the 5,6mm diameter GH04P25A2G for desktop optical drives and the 3,3mm GH04P25A4G diode for notebook writers will begin in April.

According to Sharp's preliminary calculations, the cost of manufacturing a diode is about 50 Japanese yen, or about 80 forints.
