Geforce GTX 480 Danger Den or dread HD 5970?
The editors of the Guru3D site have handled NVIDIA’s current cannon thoroughly.
Good tuning requires water, as the saying goes. Well, in this case, it is maximally valid. Guru3D used the tried and tested Danger Den water cooling block, which did not disappoint in this case either. After that, the usual "overdrive until the transistor breaks" could begin.
The Danger Den offers three models that consist of an alloy of copper and nickel. The cheapest design at 134.95 is even the most expensive at $ 159.95.
It’s not the most beautiful paste application I’ve ever seen, but I didn’t have to be afraid of overheating anyway. After the new cooling was put into operation, the temperature of the hot-headed Fermi dropped from 95 to 49 degrees Celsius.
For the Geforce GTX 480, the real ordeal came only after that. The original clock signals (700 MHz gpu, 1400 MHz, shader, and 3696 MHz memory) were well surpassed, as after overdriving, the above components ticked at 900/1800/4400 MHz. Thanks to the beneficial effects of water, the graphics processor temperature At 59 degrees, it didn’t warm even below Furmark.
During Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, fps numbers started to soar. The average acceleration was excellent, approximately 25% was added to a buffalo-powered single-chip video card at the base clock signal.
