The otherwise not very good quality photos come from a Dutch side.

The first images showing the ATI Radeon HD 5870 (codenamed: Cypress) were recently published on the forum of a Dutch tuning site. The card kept cool by the "black turbo cooling" looks very simple, clean, unusually long, which is expected to have the consequence that it will not be possible to squeeze it into average desktop systems (which are installed in medium or small houses). It is interesting to note that this time AMD (as NVIDIA has been doing for a long time on its high-end solutions) has chosen complete isolation, not only the front panel, but also the back panel is almost completely covered.

AMD said just last month about the HD 5870 that it will come with VGA HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI interfaces and support ATI EyeFinity technology.

If we can believe the rumors that have flown up in the meantime, the Radeon HD 5870 will roll down from 40nm production lines, and the core will contain no less than 1600 shading units, which will of course be paired with GDDR5 memory. The new controller will support DirectX 11, and the second-generation TeraScale engine will surpass the teraFLOP computing power. Purchase prices are expected to be between $ 379 and $ 400. What is certain is that the Radeon HD 5870 will be a modern, bull-powerful and at the same time characteristically streamlined card.
