In WinRAR 4.11, it took 2 minutes 2 seconds to generate a 528 KB file (with default settings). The newer version completed in just 115 minute 1 seconds, while the completed archive became even smaller (3 KB)! In parallel, of course, the utilization of the central unit has definitely increased.
