Here’s a high-end list for the end of this year based on statistics from one of China’s largest department stores.

Introductory

Before we start discussing the phones, it is worth noting that in Chinese stores, Black Friday is not the biggest shopping holiday, but November 11, known as their single day, is the way 11.11. By no means does this day fall on a fixed day of the week, such as Friday, this year, for example, last Saturday, which could have been good for us if it hadn’t been a working day. Because of this, many people were probably behind on the bigger deals. We can no longer help with this, at most by showing in an article which phones sold out in the largest number this year on singles day. The focus will now be on Xiaomi handsets, but as a bonus, we’ll also show you the top five mobiles we’ve bought from other manufacturers. Serious surprises await us in the list because of the placement of some phones, or because some of the mobile phones that were considered successful were not even among the most popular.

So let’s start with Xiaomi devices first!

1. Xiaomi Mi 8 6 + 128 GB

It was definitely surprising to me that this phone became the most scratchy Xiaomi mobile. Well, not because it would be so bad, in fact, simply because it is one of the most expensive on offer.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 is the company’s current flagship. Its appearance was also surrounded by a lot of curiosity, as for months only rumors arrived, more and more incredible, such as the transparent back cover or the fingerprint sensor hidden behind the front glass or the infrared camera for 3D face recognition. Then it turned out that all this was true, but unfortunately some of the specifications will only be in the top model called the Explorer, which will later be marketed in Europe as the Pro.

The “low-cost” Xiaomi Mi 8 didn’t get bad, it got a nice big AMLOED display, it became 3D face recognition, and of course it has the currently strongest Snapdragon tile bearing the 845 start number. Like its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi 6, the eighth version also got great cameras, with two 12-megapixel miracles working on it in the back. The phone is available in several memory and storage configurations and has sold out nicely. The Xiaomi Mi 20 thus became the most popular not only because most of the 8 + 6 GB version ran out, but also because the other packaging was carried as sugar. For this reason, in some places on the top list, I will only mark the phone as indicative, I will not write about it anymore.

The Mi 8 has got three cameras, two 12-megapixel sensors on the back and a 20-megapixel sensor on the front to convert the lights into electrical signals. For back-camera cameras, it’s important to know that one of the 12-megapixel sensors has a telephoto lens in front of it, which gives you a hardware zoom, and the phone also has an optical image stabilizer.

2. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro 4 + 64 GB

Second came the phone I’ve been waiting for in the first place, one that currently has perhaps the best value for money of what Xiaomi has to offer.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is Xiaomi’s first four-camera mobile. That is good, but there would be little for salvation. To steal yourself into my bitter heart, we need a lot more than to have four cameras, we also need to have 4 good cameras, and in addition to the cameras, we also get a percussion hardware. Needless to say, as with the Note 6 Pro, it has it all.

The soul of the phone is one of the best mid-range processors from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 636. With eight cores and a clock speed of up to 1,8 GHz, it can be used for almost any program, supports all kinds of LTE radios, pairs high-resolution camera sensors and can drive high-resolution displays. also, in this case a camera based on IPS technology + a 6,26-inch 2280 x 1080 pixel panel with a sensor island.

Both the front and back of the cameras consist of a pair of main and one auxiliary cameras, where the auxiliary cameras, with their relatively low resolution, allow real-time background blurring, ie in Hungarian they are responsible for depth detection. To toss numbers, there is a 20 + 2 megapixel pair in front and a 12 + 5 megapixel pair in the back. It’s also worth mentioning that Xiaomi’s engineers equipped this mobile with a 4000 mAh battery, which is really welcome, they could have done this in another phone, then now it might be in second place. I will discuss this a little later.

Like the Xiaomi Mi 8, this mobile phone can be purchased in several configurations, so you can meet the miracle of miracles with the other variant a little further down, but there is only a mention.

3. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite 4 + 64 GB blue

In third place on the list is the “poor” man Xiaomi Mi’s 8th, the Lite version. The lower degree of the podium is also a very nice result, especially so that between the Lite and the normal version in addition to the name and the fact that it is also the phone does not have much in common.

A few months ago, I wrote an article explaining that the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is the best version of the Xiaomi Mi 8. Now I have to say that I need to improve myself because the Lite is no longer the SE but the phone I find most worth buying. Nothing to think about, just got a prime Snapdragon 660 procit, a huge 6,26-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, and some great cameras. As for the display, I have to note that the image size of the front panel has become almost the same as with the big brother, because while in the case of the Xiaomi Mi 8, the display occupies 83,3 percent of the front panel of the Lite, which is pretty nice performance.

I usually talk about cameras in more detail because many people are interested in it. On the back there is a 6 + 12 megapixel pair the same as the Redmi Note 5 Pro, where we get a 5 megapixel auxiliary camera next to the main camera, which is responsible for depth detection, so it can implement real-time depth blur. The front panel, on the other hand, has “only” one camera, which is 24 megapixels and also has an automatic HDR function. It is important to note that a significant difference compared to the Mi 8 is that the optical image stabilizer was omitted from the cameras.

So I think if you want Mi 8 and don’t run out of the more expensive version, don’t be ashamed to buy it. You will have a great phone at a friendly price!

4. Xiaomi Mi 8 6 + 64 GB

As I promised another Mi 8, but now with less built-in storage. Otherwise it is the same as the first place, only the price is lower.

5. Xiaomi Pocophone F1 6 + 128 GB

I bet many of you thought this phone would be the most popular. If so you were wrong!

Xiaomi has launched a new brand called Pocophone, the cleverness of which is that it gives top hardware at a depressed price, in this case the Snapdragon 845 chip, plenty of memory and storage, and liquid cooling! With this, this phone has become the cheapest mobile in the world, equipped with the best Snapdragon chip! That sounds extremely good, since we really get a powerplant, but at the same time, cheapness comes at a price. Such a price that we can forget about the metal, glass or ceramic back cover, here surely everything is plastic.

There’s also savings on cameras, and overall, we get a worse combination than the Mi 8 Lite and Redmi Note 6 Pro. Not bad, it's important to emphasize, but definitely worse. On the back there is the standard 12 + 5 megapixel combo without vibration damping, and on the front there is a 20 megapixel sensor without any auxiliary cameras. Not bad, but if the camera is most important to you, you’ll do even better with the Redmi Note 6 Pro. Of course, if you want a bull strong phone, you’ll compromise yourself, and you’ll say this camera will be good if you have a Snapdragon 845 heart beating in it in return.

So the bottom line is to decide on a cheap muscle phone or a better camera. Or of course you spend a bag of money and buy the best, the Mi 8!

6. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite 4 + 64 GB black

Just like two up, only the color changes. The blue version seems to fit the peoples better - me too - than this black one. However, it also sold out nicely!

7. Xiaomi Pocophone F1 6 + 64 GB

Surprisingly, again, the more expensive version, the 128GB storage model, was the more popular, this 64GB version was pushed backwards. There is no other difference from the phone two years ago, just the price of course, which is lower due to the smaller built-in storage.

8. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite 6 + 128 GB blue

It seems that someone else has noticed what a great phone this Mi 8 Lite is, we are seeing it for the third time among the most popular ones, again with a blue version, but the storage is now not 64-, but 128 GB, which is the more expensive configuration.

9. Xiaomi Mi 8 6 + 64 GB blue

And yes, again here the most expensive, but also the best, is Mi 8. Now 6 + 64 GB of RAM and ROM, the color is blue instead of black. It is an interesting observation that buyers of the more expensive phone are more conservative in terms of color because while the Mi 8 Lite is more blue, the Mi 8 is more black than the black variant.

10. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro 3 + 32 GB

Here’s my heart-pound phone again, the Redmi Note 6 Pro. I’ve written about it above so I wouldn’t repeat myself. It’s worth noting that the more expensive version was the more popular, it seems 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM are already scarce in this category.

11. Xiaomi Redmi 6A 2 + 16 GB

Well, I talked about this, even though one of Xiaomi’s cheapest phones has arrived at the end of the list, it’s still weird how much more of the expensive ones have sold out. There is money here, as they say. Of course, it’s also true that Christmas is approaching, and that’s when the wallets open a little wider.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6A is the real cheap phone. We get the Xiaomi feeling, we don’t have to pay much for it, but the hardware we get is worth just that. A quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM really isn't much these days, in fact, you can say what's underneath it isn't really a phone anymore.

Of course, it should not be forgotten that although the hardware is not very muscular, the housing is also plastic in all its flavors, it can be felt on assembly that we are dealing with Xiaomi, somehow feeling much better than we would expect. Plus, it also runs MIUI, which is a very convenient system for anyone who tries it once and rarely longs for anything else after that.

So the point is, if you want Xiaom, but the budget is tight, feel free to choose this mobile, there will be no disappointment.

12. Xiaomi Redmi 6 3 + 32 GB

This phone was also surprising to me, at least so much in the back. I’m not saying it’s a top phone, but for relatively little money, an eight-core MediaTek chip works in it, plus the 3GB of RAM plus 32GB of storage is still enough to work properly.

It has three cameras, a pair of 12 + 5 megapixel sensors on the back and a 5 megapixel sensor on the front under the optics. This is the level that can minimally be called a camera these days. Don’t get me wrong, I know we’ve been very happy about this for a few years, especially in this price range, but times change as hardware evolves, so our legitimate needs also change in terms of minimum configuration. So I can say if I don’t want to spend a lot on Xiaomira, that would be the minimum I would buy. I think I'd rather collect a little more for the price of the Redmi 6A.

13. Xiaomi Mi A2 4 + 64 GB

To me, the year has been a disappointment for this phone, and now that I see this list it seems like I’m not alone with this. The predecessor was the largest-selling mid-range Xiaomi phone, the A2 is guaranteed not to be that.

The Xiaomi A1 was a fantastic mobile last year. Relatively inexpensive, he gave a great pair of cameras to the back cover, an acceptable strength procit in the image of the Snapdragon 625, and let’s not forget the pure Android system, which made the phone attractive to many. We expected the successor to be a masterpiece like this, but somehow things went wrong.

Well, I'm not saying this mobile is bad, but it's not nearly as big a bang as the A1 was at the time. The cameras are good, as there is a 12 + 20 megapixel pair at the back and a 20 megapixel solution at the front, but somehow they weren't outstanding in their category either. They are so average despite the high resolution. Keep in mind that the Xiaomi Mi 8, which is currently the top mobile, “only” has two 12-megapixel sensors on the back panel, which shows that pixel count and quality don’t correlate with each other.

What’s still a sore point for many is that the phone only has a 3010 mAh battery, which for those who make a lot of phone calls is just enough for a day. Sure, you’re already looking for the charger tape towards the evening, and it’s not a good letter of recommendation these days.

If you ask me if I recommend this phone for purchase, it’s with a sore heart, but I have to say no. I stress again not because it is bad, only because we get better for that money.

If pure Android is most important to you, choose A2 in the light of the above, otherwise Note 6 Pro or Mi 8 Lite is your phone.

14. Xiaomi Mi MAX 3 4 + 64 GB

Was this phone surprising at the end of the list? Not really. It’s a good device, but because of its size, it’s more of a curiosity than a real choice.

The Xiaomi Mi MAX 3 is essentially the same in terms of hardware as my favorite, the Redmi Note 6 Pro. The same CPU works in this too, upstairs I have already praised, this is a good little chip for this Snapdragon 636! The slightest difference between the two phones is in the deed of the camera, because while we also find two optics on the front of the Redmi Note 6, the MAX 3 only got one, plus a sensor of just 8 megapixels. The pair of cameras on the back is presumably the same, 12 + 5 megapixels, and the additional camera is suspected to function as a depth sensor here as well.

What makes a big difference, however, is the external size and, of course, the size of the display. The name MAX is no coincidence, it is Xiaomi’s largest phone with its 6,9-inch screen. A few years ago, we even called a device this big a tablet, but we know that even today’s smaller tablets are barely an inch bigger. So the MAX 3 is a real baking paddle or ping pong racket, who likes what. Compared to this, the resolution has not increased, remaining at 2160 x 1080 pixels, which results in a lower pixel density at this image size. This is, say, for me, who already needs glasses to read, not only do I see the pixels and the letters, but for eagle-eyed people, the line of slightly checkered characters can be confusing.

Anyway, this phone is also equipped with everything on earth well, bringing in hardware the level that a mid-range Xiaomi needs to bring these days!

This brings us to the end of the Xiaomi line of phones. I still owe you a list of five alternative manufacturers, but before that a few words from the list above. For me, the success of the more expensive category was definitely surprising, I thought the Mi 8 Lite and Redmi Note 6 would all take it. This was not entirely the case because the Mi 8 became the most widely sold phone. Unfortunately, it was no surprise that Xiaomi Mi A2 failed, I expected it somewhere, but not that the little salt, Mi A2 Lite will be nowhere to be found. And it’s not a bad phone either, in fact, in some ways it might be better to buy it than your brother if for no other reason than the pure Android system.

List of other manufacturers five

I don’t want to let go of this part anymore, I just satisfied my curiosity with this top list. I confess that I was very surprised, devices came to the fore that I would not have thought of in my dreams. Okay, not all of them, but there are some of them. So let's see you are surprised by this.

1. CUBOT King Kong 4 + 64 GB

Sure, seeing the top spot on the list, I had to search the state hard. The phone, which is not Xiaomi and most of which has gone are CUBOT’s long-distance phone, King Kong. It’s not enough that it’s not a reputable manufacturer, but it’s a relatively freshly released phone, and it’s a rugged phone, too. A rugged phone from an emerging manufacturer imprints everyone (except Xiaom, of course). Kin Kong is a good little phone anyway, MediaTek's mid-range Helio P23 chip works with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM, and the display is quite large at 5,5 inches, but only HD + resolution. There are three cameras that go with soda to further strengthen the category. However, like any regular rugged phone, it has IP68 dust and water resistance, a large impact-resistant housing, and last but not least, a 6000 mAh battery. So overall, the hardware is decent, for which the manufacturer has given me a price tag that makes me still not recover. In competition, this phone is somewhere between $ 200-250, more close to the upper limit, while King Kong is priced at $ 160. So it is already a bit understandable for customers to enthusiasm.

2-3. OnePlus 6 A6000

There was no surprise in second and third place, at least for me, OnePlus ’great phone, the OnePlus 6 A6000, reached the second and third ranks of the podium. This is a phone that rivals Xiaomi's products in terms of both quality and price. The most powerful Snapdragon chip, the 845, also works in this, with the cheaper version accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM, the more expensive version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM. Huge AMOLED display, great cameras (16 + 20 megapixels on the back, 16 megapixels on the front). The materials, the assembly, the look all refer to a high-end product, compared to this, the price is relatively low, so if someone chooses this instead of the Xiaomi Mi 8, I can't say anything wrong, I understand, because it's an excellent device!

4. LeTV Le 2 X526 3 + 64 GB

The fourth place surprise is not. As in the folk tale, I brought a gift and didn’t even release it, then let go of the pigeon. The manufacturer of the LeTV Le X526 also brought a gift, but in this case, rather than the gift, it was not the gift but the giver that went bankrupt, specifically. They made great phones, that’s not why they went broke, they got caught up in the aggressive expansion into the U.S. market. It’s a shame for them, but we’ve done well in that the warehouses are in full swing with manufactured devices that are still strong to this day, while the goods are under the frog’s butt. The X526 comes with an eight-core Snapdragon proci, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, headed up with a full HD display so cheap now that we only get worn out quad-core phones for that much money. So on the one hand it is surprising that the phone of a practically non-existent manufacturer fits into the top 5, on the other hand it is not at all surprising, because this hardware is not a gift for this money, but a real miracle!

5. CUBOT P20 4 + 64 GB

In last place is CUBOT again, so they probably closed the year well. Their phone called the P20 is a real tasteless, stinky thing. No, not bad at all, especially for the money they ask for, but it’s so boring that if it were more boring than that we’d fall asleep on the phone. The central unit is the MediaTek MTK6750, which has eight cores, but is so old that perhaps Noah also called the shelters with such a phone all the way when he docked with his barge. Of course, I used to say that it’s enough for everything an average user uses their phone for, and it’s true, it’s really enough. Just as the 20-megapixel rear-panel and 13-megapixel front-panel cameras are enough to shoot even in normal lighting conditions.

The only strength of the phone is the price, it is really worth buying for so much money!
