A few years ago, the "smart" burner that could be controlled from the phone was a real sensation, but now its price has fallen into the widely available category. I quickly ordered one to try! I chose the Xiaomi Yeelight AC220V RGBW E27 Smart LED Bulb for the test. This extremely long and ugly name carries a lot of information. The first is that the burner is designed for a 220 (230) volt mains voltage. The second is that it is RGB, i.e. RGB, which essentially means you can light up the apartment with 16 million colors. The third is that it has W, i.e. it has a wifi connection. , i.e. smart, The fifth is that it is LED, i.e. energy-saving. We’ve got essentially all the important information, but of course the test can’t end with that much. The Xiaomi Yeelight comes in a simple white box, naturally packed so that it cannot be damaged during transport. We only get a small booklet as an accessory, in which we only find Chinese characters. Thank You! The first set-up is very simple, but pay attention to the details now, I’ll reveal some tricks I just had a hard time finding in the net’s panties. Download the software for the burner to your phone (iOS or Android). Don't make the mistake I made of going to the web store that matches your phone, searching for it and downloading it. It will not be good! There is a QR code on the attached booklet, read it, download the program from that link, it will work! Turn on the light, see if the phone can see it, but don't connect to it. Start the downloaded program, search for it, connect. If the program finds the burner, enter the Wi-Fi network to which it must connect, enter the password and click connect. If you're lucky, it's connected and you can jump to point four. If not, you can read the most important and valuable lines of this article now. The connection fails. In this case, the first thing to do is to reset the burner. Since the description is in Chinese, you don't know how to do it, but I'll tell you. Turn the light on and off five times with 2-3 second breaks. If it starts to light up in all kinds of colors, you have arrived. The fact that it is not connected to the network is NOT the fault of the burner, but of the router setting. It took me two days to acquire this knowledge. Don't start searching on the net, you don't need to ping Xiaomi's server, you have to do one thing. The router's own IP address must not be used for the DNS settings, the Google DNS addresses must be entered! So, if so far e.g. was set to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 as DNS, then enter instead 8.8.8.8 as primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 as secondary DNS. The burner will connect to the server and everything will work. Eureka! Create a Xiaomi account, this will be needed, I'll tell you why later! You can have fun, you can control the burner! The program itself is very simple. Actually, it was not made for this burner, but for smart home devices from Xiaomi. All our smart devices can be recorded and controlled from the program, even remotely. Here is the answer to the previous question, why do we need to create an account. That's because Xiaomi's smart devices only use Wi-Fi to access the Internet. The control does not take place between your phone and the smart fire, but the Xiaomi cloud service is incorporated between the two. Through this, you can control your home devices anywhere in the world where there is internet. I will come back to the benefits of this later! The program is therefore easy to use, clear indications help us. The burner can be used in several modes. We find a common point between the operating modes, we can change the brightness in each mode. The first way is white light. Here, in addition to the brightness, we can also adjust the color temperature, we can practically choose anything from a sharp, almost bluish light to an orange reminiscent of the setting sun. You can emulate the light of a traditional incandescent lamp very well with it! The second way is colored lighting. Since RGB LEDs light up, no less than 16 million shades of color are available. This can also be selected on the phone's display. As I wrote above, you can assign any brightness to the 16 million colors, so you can turn your living room into a brothel, a movie developing room or immerse yourself in the great blue. The third way is disco lighting. I understand that the lamp automatically changes its color and/or brightness. I think it's extremely annoying, but it adds a perfect psychedelic experience to, for example, a house party. I would start by saying that Xiaomi produces and sells quite a few smart devices. There are all kinds of magic, from motion sensors to cameras to smart sockets, and I hope to try them all in a row! All of these devices must be installed on our phone, that is, as I wrote above, in the Xiaomi cloud service. After that, we can control these devices wherever there is internet, which is already almost everywhere because of the mobile internet. At first, you would think that this only makes sense for the motion sensor, camera, and alarm package, but it doesn't. If you're away, you can turn on the light remotely for a short time in the evening, so it's as if someone is in the apartment. This is a useful thing! Let's also say that you can make your beloved who is waiting for you to come home in the evening in front of the TV, and instead of rushing, you start adjusting the color of the lamp. It's fun, I tried it! If you've read this article all the way through, you might have felt that I don't consider smartness to be stupid, in fact. I know it's not a good habit, but I keep my phone next to the bed when I go to bed. Ever since I've been smart enough, I don't stumble to bed in the dark after turning off the lights, because I can do that from bed via my phone. If I work late but need the light, I dim the lamp nicely to give it just enough light that I need, but to be able to sleep from it. So the smart fire has worked for me, I'm already thinking about where to buy more of it after the living room. There is also a version that is cheaper than the color one and only emits white light, on which only the brightness and temperature can be adjusted. So move with the times, but now don't bake with Váncza baking powder, but light with a smart burner!
