This is probably the best desk - ACGAM ET225E durability test

It's hard to find a better price-performance ratio. I use it every day, you can see it in all my videos, but I was still in debt with the article. Until now, because now you get this too, I'll tell you what it's like to live with a pretty good electric table. That is, to work.

Buying an electric table has long been a problem for me. I just looked at them for a long time, longing for them. In the past, when I also worked as a system administrator, I visited a company that had height-adjustable desks. Of course, these were solutions that could not be adjusted with a crank, but could be raised and lowered electrically.

As a system administrator, I also worked in front of a monitor, mostly sitting, so it was refreshing to go out to this company, raise the top of the table, and work standing, comfortably, without bending over. Since then, I've wanted a table like this for myself, but since it's not cheap, I always felt that there was something more important.

Okay, nothing is more important than my health, I knew it too, I knew that a lot of sedentary work is not good, but I was able to talk myself out of shopping.

I successfully resisted until this summer, but this year my new office was finally completed (that is, I prepared my new office for myself), and this was a good opportunity to create a workplace where I can write and make videos, and there was no turning back from here, I ordered ACGAM ET225E, which is a double-motor, height-adjustable table.

I thought a lot about whether to buy a table top, because I thought I could get a cheaper one at home, but in the end I ordered it as well. The size was just right (140 x 60 centimetres), I thought the holes would be pre-drilled for it, but it will be added to the frame, so I will be better off with it.

Then the frame came, but not the table top. I waited-waited-still waited-and only waited, but the table top was nowhere to be found. I wrote to the store, they said sorry, there is a shortage of stock, they will send it, but only later. I waited another week, but I couldn't take it anymore. I went to IKEA, among the discounted products I found a Franko table top (really impeccable), I happily drove home with it to Zala. And the next day the factory tabletop arrived.

So this adventure started off pretty weird with the ACGAM ET225E, but now I don't mind. I will use the extra table top for something else, but I have a great adjustable table, and that's the point!

Packet arrived.

Let's go back to where the courier brought the frame. He pushed me in the van to the door. Why he didn't raise it made sense only when I tried to raise it, and it turned out that the 105 x 23 x 24 centimeter box, that is, it can't be called big, is damn heavy compared to its size. It weighs almost 25 kilos.

Let's just say that I was surprised that there would be a complete table frame in that small box, it occurred to me that maybe it was in two packages and I only received one. But no, it turned out that all the parts were included, from the legs to the screws.

The assembly was not complicated, as a very good guide was included. Based on this, screwing them together is almost child's play. You have to pay attention (and I can only give this one good advice) that you do not tighten the bars that affect the width of the table, because the frame itself can be used for all kinds of tabletops from 110 to 170 centimeters long and 60 to 80 centimeters deep. I would just like to add that I think it is safe to think about a width of 180 cm if the table top is thick enough.

So assemble everything, leave the connecting rod to move freely. Then put the tabletop on the ground, the frame on it and pull it apart at the edges as much as necessary. After that, you can tighten the screws of the connecting rods.

When unpacking, one thing really shocked me, the thickness of the materials used. I have seen many Chinese tables, both cheaper and more expensive, but typically, with a little exaggeration, they used paper-thick materials for the frame. I'm not saying they fall apart either, I have two such "paper" tables in the office, they've been perfect for years, so the thinness can still be good.

However, the materials of the ACGAM ET225E are not only not thin, but surprisingly thick. So it is already somewhat understandable why the small box in which it was brought is so heavy.

Anyway, the structure of the table consists of two inverted T-shaped legs, the leg of the T is what is assembled from several parts, they sit together like a telescope or extend out as we like. The smallest height is 62 cm, the highest point we can lift is 127 cm. So the height can be adjusted within fairly wide limits. Just for comparison, the height of an average desk is 75 cm, so 62 is already a child's size.

After assembling the metal frame, we still need to cable, connect the motors, screw up the control panel, and so on. This is not complicated either, because on the one hand the connectors cannot be mixed up, and on the other hand we receive detailed instructions for this as well. So everything can be solved with minimal technical skills.

What was a little disappointing was that the "factory" table top is not pre-drilled, so I had to adjust the width of the frame and also make sure that the structure was in the middle of the table. In other words, I set the distances from the 4 edges of the sheet with a measuring tape so that the end result is not a mess.

This was the only inconvenience, and it also highlighted the fact that there is really no advantage to buying the ACGAM card.

Of course, if you stick with the "factory" tabletop, you won't regret it, because its quality is the same as that of the vase, and no worse (in fact) than a more expensive IKEA tabletop. Anyway, these more expensive IKEA tiles are not cheaper by a HUF. So, if you have a good-quality and good-sized tabletop at home, you might be able to get one cheaply, or you try to choose from the discounted ones, like I did, then it will be more than enough for you to buy the frame!

How is the usage?

Well, it's a table, so it's like using a better table. It's stable, it doesn't wobble, it doesn't sway, you can't just push it away because of its weight, so it feels like a quality piece.

I wouldn't say it changed my life, but it definitely has a positive effect on it. Not only because I record some of my videos with the table raised, standing behind the table, and others sitting behind the table with the sheet lowered, but also because I write some of my articles this way. Sometimes sitting, sometimes standing, in fact, it happens that I sit down in the middle of the article or stand up, as my back and legs want.

It is also easy to handle. We get a simple control panel, on which we can see how many centimeters high the table is. We get an up and a down button, with which we can change the height. We have three buttons (1,2,3) for which you can program different heights after pressing M (Memory), and there is a button marked A (AutoLock), which you can use to prevent the tabletop from accidentally starting.

There is also protection that works both up and down. In other words, the table detects if something gets stuck under it, say the arm of the chair, in which case the motor automatically switches in the opposite direction. But the reverse is also true, if something gets stuck while lifting, the motor switches to the downward direction to prevent accidents.

The table can be loaded up to 100 kilos, but one of the pictures shows that the cross member (that is, the ladder frame running under the table top) can withstand 120 kilos without changing its shape. But the point is that the motors lift 100 kilos, which of course can be removed I sat on it with my 100 kilos and lifted myself up to the top point.

Well, that's about it, there's only one thing left, which is to tell you why I ordered a table from Poland. Of course, because of the price.

The fact is that there are basically two significantly different solutions for a motorized table. Single-engine and two-engine solutions. The single-engine ones are obviously weaker, because either some kind of power transmission is needed so that the one engine can lift both legs, or they only lift on one side.

This means that, on the one hand, there is a good chance that the structure will withstand less (in terms of duration) and, on the other hand, its load capacity is also lower. Thirdly, there is the speed, since an average two-motor solution takes approx. 40 percent faster than an average single engine. The two motors are also good because the movement is much smoother, plus, in the case of ACGAM, if we move the table to a height stored in memory, it slows down a bit before reaching the end point. So even a glass of water can be on the table, it won't spill out during lifting or lowering. So, if you are looking at a table with a motor at home, the first thing you should do is check whether the structure has one or two motors, and choose the two-motor solution if possible!

In terms of price, it looks like we have to pay as much for the ACGAM ET225E two-motor frame as a CHEAPER single-motor frame costs here. If you want a more famous table, the domestic single-motor can be much more expensive than ACGAM's two-motor solution.

Or to put it another way, the ACGAM ET225E frame together with the tabletop (that is, the complete table) costs less than if you bought a CHEAPER two-motor frame without a tabletop at home. I don't even want to talk about the domestic prices of the more expensive brands with two engines. So the difference can be significant, many tens of thousands of forints!

For me, there was really no question that I would order this, as I had a solid year and a half to chew on this issue, to look at the different types and prices. It was soon decided that the ACGAM ET225E would be the winner, and even during the many months of procrastination, I came to the conclusion that if I ever buy such a table, the ACGAM ET225E will be the one I have to buy.

With this, of course, I want to encourage you as much as possible to make a decision, but actually this is not the only point of this article, and not only to tell you about ACGAM ET225E, but also to get a picture and think about how it wouldn't hurt. a table with any electrically or manually adjustable height for you too, if you work sitting all day.

What's still to come: When this fall season is over and the work is a little less, I'll think about arranging the office so that my walker/treadmill can also be placed under the table. Because the other thing I really miss is movement. Okay, I know, you can run on the street, but with 10-12 hours of work a day and family, it's hard to cram in any extra programs. So the plan is that from the beginning of next year I will be able to write an article while walking. Well, that will be the real kingdom!

This was not a simple test, I did not combine the impressions of a few hours or a few days into a bouquet. I've been using the table for 3 months now and I hope to use it for years to come. So it's an endurance test already, and it will be even more so as the months go by.
