A thought-provoking CPU test!

Our readers may have become accustomed to the fact that when we recommend testing a foreign site, there is usually a compelling reason for it.

The German computer portal PC Games Hardware mapped out how each processor relates to each other during multitasking measurements. First, the maximum performance was examined, then a download was set in the background, then this was enhanced by resizing the images, and finally came the conversion on two and 4 cores, respectively. In the image below, you can see what the FX-8350, Core i7-3770K, and Core i5-3470 were capable of in this situation. It is certain that SMT (Simultaneous Multithreading or more commonly known as Hyper Threading) can come in handy in this case.

In the second round, the principle was the same, but the processors changed: FX-6300, Phenom II X6 1100T, and Core i3 3220. Not surprisingly, the dual-core Intel sweated thoroughly - and it didn’t happen because of the heatwave!

Once again, new competitors have entered the stage, with the great advantage of the Phenom II X4 955, Core 2 Quad 9550 and Athlon II X4 740 CPUs being their affordable pricing - this older Intel headunit is only found in the used market.
