New Extreme Edition processor from Intel

Of course, it's not another Penryn, since the LGA1366 can be considered the primary project for the largest processor manufacturer - at least as far as developments are concerned. So far, the 7 EE has been the ruler among the Core i965s with its 3,2 GHz, and the 920 and 940 can only be considered "side tracks".

However, this situation may change "radically" within half a year, since the new king, the I7-975 Extreme Edition, will arrive around the turn of the second and third quarter, which will roar at 3,33 GHz. The engineering samples have already left the factories, which is proven by nothing better than the fact that lucky tuning champions were able to squeeze 4,5 GHz out of the not-yet-released novelty.

The new Core i7 975 Extreme Edition will taste $ 1000 - exactly as much as its predecessor today.
