DFI X38 motherboard with DDR2 support

In addition to AMD's top RD790 board, there is also a LANPARTY X38-T2R motherboard for Intel processors.

At Computex, which starts tomorrow, anyone can admire the newcomer, but for those who still can’t visit Taiwan, we can also provide some information. The first and most important news about the card is that, contrary to Intel’s preliminary roadmaps, the DFI card supports DDR2 modules. Intel also seems to have realized that because of the cost and low prevalence of DDR3 memories, the focus should be on the previous generation. Motherboards that support DDR3 will appear in the manufacturers' offer a little later.

Well, let's get back to the new LANPARTY motherboard. Because it's a fresh chipset, it can handle processors up to 1333 MHz PSB without a hitch, be it a Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad processor. Those who have already owned a CrossFire system can rejoice because they can now queue up another card for physical calculations. Although only the bare plate is visible in the image, DFI uses custom heat pipe fins to cool the north and south bridges as well as the 8-phase digital PWM controllers.
