Just be careful when browsing

ESET's due virus statistics for February show that several viruses are attacking through the browser. Safe web browsing is highly recommended, seeing the advancement of viruses attacking in this way, and the most used web application is not necessarily a protected feature.

Every month, ESET compiles a top list of computer viruses that spread around the world to find out which malware is currently threatening users' computers.
The Autorun and Conficker worms remain unchanged in second and fourth place for the time being, but in addition to the eighth JS / TrojanDownloader.Iframe.NKE trojan, another malware has attacked, mainly while browsing the Internet. We already know about the JS / TrojanDownloader.Iframe.NKE malware, which arbitrarily modifies the browser client and redirects the results to malicious websites that contain various malicious programs. Trojan code of this kind is most commonly found in HTML embeds on various websites.

But other rankings also tend to hide on websites, so the sixth-ranked JS / Kryptik Trojan this month, among others, is following this method. JS / Kryptik, which was only 35 last month, is a collective name for maliciously written malware that has confused, seemingly unreadable code. By running this intentionally unreadable JavaScript, the Trojan runs to cause the browser to go unnoticed to a malicious website, and from there to download and run additional malicious code that exploits some vulnerability on your computer. We ranked fifth this month in the HTML / Fraud.BG Trojan, which is a newcomer to the list and can deceive the user by stealing confidential data from an infected computer. To do this, in the first step, in an unexpected pop-up window, the Trojan asks the user to participate in a short survey. To do this, by means of some trick, such as the prospect of a prize, the user voluntarily and sungly enters and fills in his personal data. During its operation, the Trojan attempts to send the collected personal information to a remote computer.

Because of recent viruses, creating safe browsing is highly recommended. An up-to-date antivirus is essential, but regular security updates for the operating system and application programs are also recommended, as well as a secure browser, which can then be enhanced by downloading appropriate add-ons - such as NoScript, Netcraft Toolbar. In addition to these, however, a careful, security-conscious attitude is also necessary, as clicking for any seemingly free gift out of excessive credulity, without thinking, can put our computer and confidential data at risk. In times of economic crisis, it is particularly important to be aware of the astonishing variety of types of computer abuse in the hope of making unfair money, and to learn about them and even to make them known to the average user is a priority. Today’s man — whether an individual or a member of a corporate collective using a computer — must be adequately equipped against the myriad types of social engineering, i.e., deception-based methods.
