This is roughly the sum of the principle of crowdsourcing, born of the wedding of telework and the Internet, which organizes an independent, freelance workforce into a team.

For years, companies have been forced to continuously increase efficiency and reduce costs, as a result of which the outsourcing of certain activities, especially tasks involving significant live labor, has become increasingly important. While in some companies managers are still familiar with this basic concept and are exploring the possibilities of teleworking, there is already a form of outsourcing that incorporates, develops and multiplies the known benefits of teleworking. The essence of crowdsourcing, which can be called “mass organization” in Hungarian, is that it can mobilize many independent, job-seeking employees trained in specific types of tasks at the same time by breaking it down and organizing it into a system backed by a reliable IT system.

Innovative effects

“In the case of crowdsourcing, the system can mobilize up to tens of thousands of people for a given assignment. This may be the case for a job agency, but here the emphasis is on innovative automation, which allows for radically fast and precise processing of tasks. The system has the technology and infrastructure for “splitting” large-scale tasks, everything is done by software running on a central server, the process is fully automated, does not require human resources, so for example a data processing task can be performed in as much as a tenth, ”explains The essence of the system is Péter Faragó, the co-owner of Skawa Innovation, which operates “homerol.hu”.
The concept of telework has been linked to the definition of “call center” in many, although telework can be useful not only for call centers but also for many other activities for both large companies and the public sector.
“When a company or a state or municipal organization conducts a market research, questionnaire, or any large-scale survey, it is in their best interest to evaluate the responses received as quickly and accurately as possible, but may need the right method and suddenly thousands of people - but only for a day or two , said Carver. It is not worth keeping these workers on staff, as this is a temporary task and their fixed-term contract would involve a huge administration, but it would take weeks to get the job done. ”
Crowdsourcing can mean a dramatic change in work organization, especially for receivables managers, retail companies, pollsters, translation agencies, and various SMEs that require significant administration and background work. The range of jobs that can be done from home is growing. There is also a growing demand for large amounts of telework to be done simultaneously in connection with database building, link building, scanning, telephone surveys, and typing audio and video materials. At the same time, the number of companies and activities where this type of work can be applied is constantly growing.

Cost - cutting factors

The traditional telecommuting system also has a number of advantages, no need to spend on office costs used by employees, computers, printers, utility bills, other ancillary costs. In addition, project management and quality assurance costs do not need to be considered. However, this is typical of all types of teleworking outsourcing. However, in the case of crowdsourcing, the client does not have to deal with the development of the IT system necessary for the work or the purchase of a specific solution. Moreover, such a system is able to fragment the task and coordinate the work of many people. This alone can mean a 30-40 percent cost reduction. You don't even have to spend on most of the telecommunication equipment needed for work, and the associated call traffic expenses can also be removed from the list.

Crowds are waiting in front of their computers

The number of masses involved in teleworking, including crowdsourcing, is unimaginably large worldwide. In Hungary alone, more than 5,5 million people use the Internet on a daily basis. Initially, teleworking was popular mainly among people with disabilities and those associated with their homes, such as pregnant women. However, with rising unemployment, more and more people with the internet and the right computer are taking up telecommuting, ensuring that every sudden job comes in with the right amount and skills. It is a guarantee even for large international companies that outsourced teleworking can be done safely, quickly, in high quality by crowdsourcing, and for a fraction of the usual costs.
