Core i7 against Scythe

A GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5P motherboard and an Intel Core i7 I7-920 processor operating at 3,5 GHz were used for the test. For these reasons, we have made some changes to the measurements in this article. The temperature of the seeds was not averaged, the values of each seed were monitored in each case. During the test, the temperature difference between the cores was not significant, where one or the other ran away a bit, so omitting the averaging only meant that the graph became much sharper.

Measurements were performed with Everest as usual. The method thus did not change. We observed the temperature values during loading, after the load stopped, and of course the most important one, the DeltaT value, which is the difference between the highest temperature experienced during the measurement and the room temperature, could not be missed either.

As usual, we started with load measurement. At the end of the graph, you don’t accidentally see three values, for 2-2 coolers the last data was the same. Of course, this does not mean that the ribs performed equally well. It is clear that the Mugen 2 has achieved an exceptionally good result!

The second measurement is again the recooling. Here, the performance of the fins and the fans can be clearly seen, as they were able to dissipate the accumulated heat at different times after the high heat load. Zipang performed best in this regard. Of course he had a place to cool, the Mugen only had to start at 48 degrees Celsius, from there he could produce the lowest temperature.

By the end, my favorite, the all-deciding deltaT, is the graph that shows what the ribs produced compared to room temperature. Mugen 2 triumphed. Orochi wasn't far behind either, which shouldn't come as a surprise, as he was a monster, he had to produce something with so much metal. On the beaten field, we shouldn’t be surprised, as we can expect so much from smaller coolers, but even that is much more than we might expect, as let’s not forget: the processor didn’t work at the factory clock!
