Conroe Itineraries: Little Tuning Options?

Processors based on the Core architecture are not yet significantly accelerating.

Following the latest news, an interesting question may come to the mind of the average customer: "is there a basis for the assumption that the Conroe core processors will not be well tuned?" — the answer can be found on the road map shown in the picture.

Conroe itineraries with little tuning options

As you can see, Intel is not planning a version faster than the current top model (E2007, with a core frequency of 6700 GHz) until early 2,66. From this it can only be concluded that the Core architecture is not yet scaling so well - although the Extreme Edition series, which is marked for the third quarter, will already be Conroe’s core, with current speculations at a frequency of around 3 GHz.

For tuners, too, this speed will be about the upper limit, with air cooling, of course - you can go a little higher with water. The real problem is the issue of multipliers: Conroe core CPUs operate with a fairly high FSB, and this is the only way to increase the core frequency. Until motherboard designers can somehow make this better, only more expensive Core processors with a high multiplier from the base will be able to achieve better results.
