Blitzwolf GC6 - Introduction
Sometimes one gets surprises, sometimes quite big ones. Sometime at the end of the summer I ordered myself a gamer chair, it was cheap, it looked good, plus it arrived from the Czech warehouse in a week.
Based on the pictures, it was a real, bloody gamer chair, and although I don’t usually play, my work is tied to a monitor, so what’s comfortable for a player will be good for me too. At least that’s what I thought when I bought it, and in that case, my expectation came in.
It can be adjusted and tilted everywhere, the seat is wide enough, but the thigh support is good because it is on it. It’s hard enough, just enough not to break my back, but not be uncomfortable even after sitting for 10 hours a day. This chair was the Blitzwolf GC2. I also wrote an article about it, you must have read a lot.
In the meantime, it turned out that another chair would come in handy here in the office, I’m bored of rolling this one between my desks, plus if someone came up to me, I couldn’t sit down. The thought followed, yes, but the GC2 was just not available, so I ordered another variety called GC6.
Based on the pictures, the seating surface was the same, the backrest seemed more comfortable, and there was no footrest. The latter didn’t hurt, I didn’t use it anyway. Well, the chair arrived, I assembled it, and I got something completely different than I expected.
Packaging and accessories
When the box arrived I was no longer surprised. It was just like the other chair in terms of weight and size. However, I have already found discrepancies when unpacking.
Now, of course, I don’t think the backrest looks different because it’s evident, it was already different based on the pictures, not a little bit.
However, the roller foot, the star shape also changed. While in the older version I had to snap all five branches into the center part, here only for two stems, and only the end of the stems, the part where the rollers will have to be turned into place.
The package itself includes these components anyway:
- Seat
- Backrest
- Telescope + cover for the telescope
- The star + two endings
- 5 castors
- 2 armrests
- 1 waist cushion
- 1 cover on the back
- Screws
- 1 Allen key
In addition, you will find a correct assembly description. I missed the latter very much at the other chair. There were such tiny pictures in the printed booklet that I literally had to put on two glasses to see which screw I had to roll where.
So the description is good for the GC6, but right now it’s completely unnecessary because this chair isn’t a little complicated.
Assembly
I made a timelaps video of the assembly directly so you can see the process, which can be found in the video tutorial at the beginning of this article. The whole assembly took about a quarter of an hour, and that already included unpacking. If someone hasn’t seen an office chair up close, it might be 20-25 minutes.
If I want to compare it to my other chair, the clearly significant difference is that the assembly has been simplified to the extreme. There are no more screws of different sizes, you don't have to look for where it fits.
The process is simple. First, assemble the star with the casters and insert the telescope into it. As a second step, we screw the mechanism to the bottom of the seat, which tilts, lowers and lifts the chair. The armrests can come third, and finally we screw up the backrest. When we’re done with that, we put it all on the telescope, then finally snap the extra cover onto the back cover and put the waist pad in place.
We are ready!
What does the chair know?
Of course, it can be lowered or raised, according to the factory data, the seat height can be adjusted between 49 and 61 inches, so it can be adjusted to essentially any normal desk.
The backrest can be tilted backwards at an angle of 150 degrees, plus a comfort enhancer so that at least the seat can be tilted with the backrest. In the rearmost position, you can already take a good nap in it, while at a 90-degree angle, you can work comfortably in it.
The height of the armrest can also be adjusted, and the supports can even be turned. For me, the speciel is a little more comfortable if the front of the armrests turns a little inwards, so I’m happy with this ability.
The height of the headrest is fixed, but the waist cushion can be pushed up and down as you wish and your waist.
The parts of the chair that look like leather are made of faux leather, quite a soft material. It’s on my other chair too, I’ve been using it for a few months now, so I know there’s no sign of wear during that much time. The backrest, on the other hand, is made of a breathable, mesh material. This doesn’t have much significance in the winter, but in the summer, when it comes to heatwave it will definitely be good to ventilate.
Gamers Chair VS. Blitzwolf GC6
I have to turn back a bit to my other chair again because that’s the easiest way I’ll be able to tell what the GC6 is like.
So, as I wrote above, the Blitzwolf GC2, the gaming chair, is a real, bloody piece made for gamers. Strong construction, relatively hard seat and backrest, and these can be adjusted in a thousand ways, for example, the backrest can be tilted back 180 degrees. So, to a horizontal position.
I also wrote that based on the pictures, the seat of the character in this article is the same as the other one. Well, really not, and that was the surprise I mentioned at the beginning of the article. The Blitzwolf GC6 provides a heavily padded seat. Not a sinking TV armchair, but several times the thickness of the cushion of a gamer’s chair.
The back cover already looked different in the pictures, and as it turned out, it was quite different for comfort. The mesh material is much softer, which is why the backrest is. Those who do not like puritanical solutions will love this.
What’s still very different is the chair vase. The seat only differs in the cushioning, but the back also differs in structure. While the gamer chair is hard all the way and holds strong, in the case of the GC6 we only find a metal insert at the bottom, plastic at the top. True, it seems strong enough, but it’s clearly not a brutal piece that satisfies the rougher needs of gamers.
And third, as I mentioned, there is no footrest. In the case of the GC2, we get a pull-out footrest. This is not a standard thigh support, we can really lie in the chair by pulling out and tilting the backrest backwards. Well, the GC6 doesn’t have a footrest, but I think it will be what will be missed the least.
The point, then, is that while the GC2 sold to the gaming chair is indeed a gaming chair, the GC6, which also sold to the gaming chair, is not. At first glance, we might think so, but for comfort, it’s more like an armchair, in terms of comfort, much more like a padded boss armchair than anything else.
Better or worse?
Honestly, I haven’t been able to decide yet. I’m writing this article while sitting in the GC6 that is now being presented, I’ve been expanding on this since the morning, but I still don’t know if I’m going to use this or that as my primary chair in the future.
I love the “puritanism” of that chair, its hardness. It’s precisely this hardness that makes me feel better holding my back, my waist, and since I’m pretty much back pained, it’s important to me. However, the softer seat of the GC6 is also a pretty good thing.
Regarding my back, it’s also important that the waist cushion in this new chair is softer, but much larger than in the gamer version. This definitely makes the seat better, more comfortable, and as I wrote about the ability, the height of the cushion can be adjusted or, if we wish, we can even take it off.
So the point is, I haven’t been able to make a decision yet. As it turned out, the two chairs are so different from each other that I didn’t even dare think about it based on the pictures. Sitting abilities with a completely different character, so it’s like trying to compare an apple to a pear.
Which one to buy and is it worth buying at all?
The answer to the second half of the question is simple, if it weren’t worth it, I wouldn’t have bought them. They are at prices that are typical Jysk gaming chair prices, but the pieces sold at the said company cannot compete with them in either knowledge or comfort. So they are worth it, definitely worth buying if we need a gamer or office chair.
Which one do you buy? I think a lot has been revealed so far. If you prefer the harder chairs and play a lot while sitting in front of the monitor next to or instead of work, you’ll need the harder piece.
If, on the other hand, you want a sportier-looking but much more padded, much softer chair, you’ll need the Blitzwolf GC6.
Summary
I love Blitzwolf products, and when the gaming chairs appeared in the Czech warehouse, I was one of the first to hit them. So much among the first that I was probably among the top 10 buyers, so much in the beginning that the chairs, they didn’t even arrive at the warehouse, they could only be put in a cart in advance.
The fact that I didn’t regret buying it is clear, and it can only be seen from the fact that I bought my second chair as well. As I indicated, it has not yet been possible to decide which will remain the primary and which will be the “reserve”. I’ll probably work on the new one for a few more days, then sit back a little for the next one and then vote.
