BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930: the first BB 7 smartphones
Research In Motion has announced the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930, which will be the first in the world to run BlackBerry 7 OS. Both smartphones have a touch screen and a QWERTY keyboard.
The new operating system will include a faster browser, voice-based search, and BlackBerry Balance. With the latter, users can separate their personal and work data, but both types will be found on the same device. To avoid confusion and unpleasant moments, this seems like a good option.
The phones arriving this summer will have a 2,8-inch capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 640 × 480. RIM has made its thinnest mobile phones to date, with a "thickness" of only 10,5 millimeters. The 1,2 GHz processor is accompanied by 768 MB of RAM and 8 GB of built-in storage. Of course, a microSD expansion slot, a 5-megapixel rear camera with 720p video recording, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, digital compass, accelerometer and proximity sensor will also be part of the equipment. The QWERTY keyboard is complemented by a small optical touchpad. Furthermore, the phone has NFC (Near field communication) support and a 1230 mAh battery.
The difference between the two devices is that the 9900 will have HSPA +, while the 9930 will have a CDMA / EV-DO Rev.A module.
