Smallholders can join the world of computing

The GAZDANet program is launched: small producers can apply for HUF 3,5 billion for the purchase of a computer suitable for Internet connection, the Ministry of Rural Development (VM) announced.

An applicant can receive a maximum of HUF 90 in support, so that about 39 farmers will be able to take advantage of electronic communication and administration. Applications are submitted September 1-30. may be submitted to the Office for Agriculture and Rural Development (ARDA). The legislation on this has already been published in the Hungarian Gazette. The rate of support is 40 percent of eligible expenses, and 50 percent for young farmers. The required computers will be handed over to the winning applicants by the staff of the National Institute for Agricultural Advisory, Training and Rural Development (NAKVI) by 2013 March 31 at the latest.

The condition of the support is that the computer must be operated for 5 years, it must be used regularly for communication and administration with ARDA and NAKVI, and a one-week computer course must also be completed. The cost of the course can be reclaimed from the support that can be spent on vocational training. The GAZDANet program helps the smallest producers to obtain a computer with internet access that facilitates farming and administration.
