NVIDIA is redesigning the GeForce GTX 590
Notorious for their longevity, the GTX 590s, NVIDIA are preparing to release a new revision in the near future.
Undoubtedly, one of the "pop-up" cards of recent times is the GeForce GTX 590. Many argue that NVIDIA's GTX 590, or the red monster - the Radeon HD 6990 is a more stable and time-resistant card in terms of structure, but experience they are increasingly showing that there are many more problems with the GTX 590. General use is relatively tolerantly handled by the king of NVIDIA, but as soon as the card gets into the hands of tuners who start a voltage-mode overdrive, the $ 700 adventure could be a nasty end. Of course, this could be said to be "whoever is stupid, die," but the situation is not that simple. On the one hand, tuning is now licensed and supported by manufacturers with their various services, and this includes the controllability of voltage values within certain limits.
It is not behind the deaths that inexperienced hands double the operating voltage and thus the device flies away, as this would be similar to any product. The GeForce GTX 590 also tends to fall asleep better in the hands of professional, professional tuning masters, accompanied by a loud pop, some odor and smoke. The fault is caused by a VRM packed from poor quality components (not known to be due to saving or under-design) that can inject the key with the slightest voltage fluctuation. NVIDIA also knew there was some butter behind their ears, so they are planning a hardware upgrade on the GTX 590.
This operation is expected in June, the printed circuit board will receive a more durable power supply with better quality FETs, coils and capacitors. It is not ruled out that the reference PCB may also be redesigned, so it is also inconceivable that refrigeration companies will be able to throw already produced water cooler blocks in the trash and sit back at the design table. We’re curious to see how the GTX 590 “rev B” will prove and manage to outgrow pediatric diseases. It’s not out of the question that the Greens also want to increase their propensity to overdrive to improve the competitiveness of the GTX 590 compared to the Radeon HD 6990.
