LGA1155 socket burn cases are only a consequence of accidents

Are Sandy Bridge CPUs cool, yet the sockets burn under them? At first glance, the story seems strange. The manufacturer explained what happened.

Recently, there have been reports of horror stories that the LGA67 sockets on certain P1155 motherboards and the connection pins in them have suffered burns during operation. The manufacturer later wanted to clarify the situation and the problem.

LGA1155 socket burn cases are only a consequence of accidents

According to the company, "socket burn" has nothing to do with the quality of the motherboards being sold, it is an internal error — it was a mistake, because damaged motherboards were sent out, which were copies used for internal tests and intended for the media.

According to them, these motherboards were subjected to extreme loads during internal testing, resulting in burns on each needle. These specimens should have been destroyed instead of being forwarded from the factory for normal use. Clearly, an error occurred and the company promised to recall the affected stocks and that a similar event would not occur in the future.
