Internet Explorer 9 is tapped by Mozilla
After the "Tracking Protection" feature, Mozilla also struck the "Extension Performance Advisor".
As you know, Internet Explorer 9's Add-on Performance Advisor works by identifying add-ons that might be slowing down your browser and provides the information you need to disable the add-on, right from the notification area. It shows the load time of each extension, which makes it easy to see how much they affect your browsing experience. We can improve the performance of the browser by disabling potentially less useful or too slow extensions.
Extension Performance Consultant
Microsoft's implementation measures the performance impact of extensions on the user's machine when the browser is launched. Mozilla, on the other hand, will only display its own measurements for the 100 most popular extensions, which will be published on the respective extension's website. Addons that increase the browser's startup time by at least 25 percent receive a warning signal.
The flaw in Mozilla's thinking is that users cannot measure their own configuration - they have to base it on the "experiences" of others - and they will not receive information about less popular extensions either.
