The searches of Hungary and the world for the past year
For the 11th year in a row, Google Zeitgeist is now taking a look at some of the most popular or fastest growing keywords of the year.
The published leaderboards give anyone an idea of what has sparked the most interest among internet users this year: while the list of the fastest growing keywords in the world is led by net-celeb Rebecca Black - followed by Google’s novelty, Google+, and then again a celebrity, Ryan Dunn, can be found on the podium - until then, the attention of Hungarian internet users turned to reality shows and an online game (1st Eden Hotel, 2nd Real World, 3rd Kapi Hospital).
Google Zeitgeist’s “fastest growing searches” lists reflect which topics have sparked outstanding interest in individual countries and around the world. In this category, the terms with the highest number of searches and the highest number of searches are added to the list, as e.g. Also for Rebecca Black and the Eden Hotel. And the lists of “most searched terms” refer to the words that most people searched for in the topic in 2011 as a whole.

In addition to the differences, the global and domestic list of celebrities of outstanding popularity and interest this year includes some similarities: as worldwide, the tragically talented singer Amy Winehouse and the recently deceased Steve Jobs were among the 10 fastest growing keywords in Hungary. the legendary leader of Apple. Next to them, the domestic list shows mainly newly discovered domestic celebrities known from reality shows and talent scouts, but in addition to popular foreign names, the well-known young musician, Fluor, was also added to the list.
