Cooperation between Apple and BMW
From now on, we can connect Apple MP3 players to our own sound systems for BMW and MINI vehicles and listen to our favorite tracks through it, all by controlling the iPod from the steering wheel or dashboard.
Authorized BMW and MINI dealerships will soon install an interface and menu display that allows you to connect all Apple iPod models. The device, which can be easily removed in one go, can also be operated safely while driving, which can also be charged via the car's electrical system.

The factory iPod connection is available for the new BMW 1, 3, X3, X5, Z4 and MINI models. Retrofitting is also possible if the car is not equipped with a CD storage or, in the case of the BMW 1 and 3, a navigation system and a multifunction steering wheel. Owners of older series 3 and 5 Bavarian cars don’t have to worry either, there’s also a way to connect them later in their case.
