ASUS My Cinema-US2-400 tuner - Hybrid travel companion
ASUS 'new Hyrid comes in a sophisticated, not-too-large box with a large cut-out in the middle that gives you an insight into the contents of the package. On the outer cover, we get all the essential information in case we just hesitate between two or three products in the store. Because we can already learn about the key features of the device in this way, it is easier to choose exactly what services we need, i.e., whether the US2-400 meets our expectations (suspectedly this will not be a problem). Once we’ve taken possession of our new favorite, we can come unpacking and visually inspect the supply.
The manufacturer includes the standard equipment: installation disc, "really fast" user manual, distribution cable (with the help of which you can choose from several outputs: S-Video, composite, audio right and left channels), the tuner itself, approx. a tiny room antenna with a meter of cable, a button cell, and a small and very thin remote control (keeping portability in mind) slipped out of the box.
Let's move on to the exterior of the US2-400. ASUS is not usually disappointed with the design, nor is it. The bright black color and chrome stripe - combined with small inscriptions - give it a serious, elegant look. Don’t be left fumbled at a crime scene because fingerprints are terribly beautiful to read from it. The product is approx. It is 9 cm long and 3 inches wide, so it is barely noticeable even in a pocket. Thanks to the built-in 4 GB flash memory, it can also be used as a flash drive with a calm heart, if you feel like it, of course this storage space will have a different role.
To the left of the chrome strip is the cap, removing it will make the USB 2.0 port available. The antenna connector is located at the other end of the tuner. On the right side, you can be aware of a smaller vent and a USB Mini-A port, where you need to connect a cable with external outputs if you decide you don’t want to watch TV on your computer monitor. There is only one factory sticker blooming on the belly of the device, with a model number, barcode and some standard logo.
We are beyond the mandatory circles, commissioning may come. This operation could not be easier than it is now, just connect the antenna to the tuner and then to the computer, insert the disc, press the auto-install and configure button, then sit back and wait for ASUS to do everything for us. This procedure took us 3-4 minutes after the product software automatically appeared.
