ASUS J201, future mobile plans

Although they only dream of one million devices sold this year, we can already count on three million ASUS-manufactured mobile phones next year.

For the increasingly dynamic market for mobile devices, ASUS makes products both under its own name and for other manufacturers. According to the head of the research and development team, it is not at all ruled out that a total of up to three million mobile phones could be sold next year.

ASUS devices are successful primarily in Southeast Asia and Europe, and will continue to focus increasingly on these areas. Although it was originally planned to start shipping 3G solutions as early as the end of this year, this was postponed to the first half of next year, citing market needs.

Although they are still quite young in the market, they have already taken seventh place among Taiwanese manufacturers, and this could be further improved by their first MP3-capable solution, the J201, which arrived yesterday. The said device can be considered as a mid-range model with a 1,3 megapixel digital camera, built-in Bluetooth connectivity, 128 MB of memory and the ability to store 30 ringtones. Its price is around the amount of 70 thousand forints.

This year, we can expect three more traditional mobile devices from the manufacturer.
