New mobile technology debuts in Hungary

New mobile technology debuts in HungaryThe modernization of Magyar Telekom's mobile network announced in May has reached another milestone. The telecommunications service provider is starting extended network testing of 4G / LTE technology with the involvement of hundreds of customers in the already covered parts of Budapest. The 4G / LTE-based mobile internet service will be launched by Magyar Telekom on January 2012, 1, which will be available with the newly released Net & Roll 4G tariff plan.

In May, Telekom launched its large-scale network modernization project, which is the nation's largest residential mobile network development program for the company's 5,2 million mobile customers. As a result of the modernization, the super-fast HSPA + -based mobile Internet service with a nominal download speed of 380 Mbps is now available to T-Mobile customers in 21 locations. As another step in the development, the service provider announced the connection of 80 4G / LTE stations to the test network today. According to the plans, as a result of the intensive development, the number of 4G / LTE stations will roughly triple by the end of the year, in 2012 the coverage will be extended to the whole area of Budapest, and later the consumer demand will determine the pace of expansion. The mobile internet service based on 4G / LTE technology will be launched on January 2012, 1 by T-Mobile.

In order for the commercial service to start in January after processing and incorporating the results of a thorough test period, Telekom will launch extended network testing of 4G / LTE mobile technology involving hundreds of customers - retail, SMEs and large enterprises. Telekom customers who already have access to a 4G / LTE-capable network at their residential or workplace will be invited to test the operation of the new technology in real conditions. The next generation mobile network is currently located in Budapest III., IV., V., VI. VII., XII. and XIII. operates in certain parts of its district.

Christopher Mattheisen, President and CEO of Magyar Telekom, said: "After our LTE test conducted in real conditions last April, T-Mobile is once again the first to provide its customers with a live 4G/LTE network. In a unique way in Hungary, hundreds of our customers can test this technology together with the service provider and at the same time. As a market-leading infocommunications company, we want to play a decisive role in the country's digital renewal. Within this, we treat the spread of real broadband, which is the engine of development, as a particularly important goal. We have reached another significant stage of this process with the deployment of the new generation 4G/LTE technology, in which our two strategic partners, Cisco and Ericsson, also played a major role. The test that is starting now is really the first and real encounter with 4G/LTE technology for us. In the two months ahead, we will build on the actual experiences of our engineers and customers to perfect the technology that will fundamentally define the mobile telecommunications of the future."

In addition to subscribing to the Net & Roll 4G tariff plan, you also need a 4G / LTE-capable device to use the next-generation mobile Internet. With the introduction of the service, T-Mobile will now offer devices that support next-generation technology. The service based on LTE technology will also be available to business subscribers within the framework of the BusinessNet mobile internet portfolio, at the same time as the commercial launch of retail packages.

The main tangible benefits of 4G / LTE technology for users are high download and upload speeds and reduced latency, making it even easier to use online applications and games over the mobile network to download and download high-definition, even HD-quality videos. uploading is significantly faster, and multiple programs can run smoothly at once, all of which dramatically improve the customer experience. The advantage of 4G / LTE technology for service providers lies in more efficient networking, while being able to serve many more customers at higher data rates. The new equipment used for the LTE network is a significant step forward in terms of both energy consumption and installation space, as well as more economical operation.
