The introduction to this writing of ours should have been mentioned in the introduction, but we have failed to do so, so we need to make up for it now. It so happened that the new Arctic decided that a new face had to be found for the new name as well. Branding is not an easy task, it costs money, it has to be presented, it has to be shown that we are not cheap. Maybe that’s why we were able to get an invitation to the Kempinski Hotel for lunch and a familiar product presentation. Of course, the show was not organized for our two beautiful eyes, there was a prominent representative from almost every country in Europe from a company that distributes Arctic products in that country. The host was none other than the domestic distributor, Computer Emporium.
Needless to say, there was no problem with the quality of the event, both the meeting and the presentation were pretty loose, a lot of humor and laughter, so it was unnecessary to buy a suit.
Since this article is not a test, but rather a double-sided charcoal, let's cut into the presentation of the product ranges. As mentioned, the refrigeration section is retained. The well-known solutions in the field of CPU and VGA cooling, the fans and the ribs are nicely greeted. The range has even expanded with a few products, such as flashy memory cooling. The manufacturer has also placed the computer case and power supply range under the cooling category, but we can also find a fan with a cable and USB power supply here.
After cooling, the Equipment product group follows. This is a pretty big salad, as it has everything from a laser pointer to an iPhone 4 case. We, as computer faces, may be most interested in mice and keyboards.
The third large group was named Power. Perhaps unsurprisingly, we find here a variety of chargers, batteries and cables for a variety of mobile devices.
The fourth major product line is called Sound. This, of course, includes headphones and earphones and speakers. Some of these have already been guest guests with us, some of them have surprised us thoroughly, of course in a good way.
The next group is called Hobby. Well, this is where we can open our mouths the most. We were also amazed from the moment we were getting a game console from Arctic for testing, but we didn’t think we could try RC boats and cars sooner or later. But it is! The Hobby category is taken seriously by the Swiss. True, the products are mostly Arctics for being stickered on the name, but let’s not be insatiable, it’s not easy to change from a refrigerator manufacturer to a model manufacturer at the same time.
The last group worth mentioning is Living. There are only two product lines here, but they are all the more interesting. One contains different versions of a mini-PC, and the other has control devices that come with the machine, such as a keyboard and a remote control. Yes, sure, this is a blood HTPC that we may try soon!
As you can see, the disappearance of Arctic Cooling is not a big blow to us, but the birth of Arctic is to be welcomed. Survival is at stake - they could say in the land of Milka cows, and the reform was the result. Even now, shortly after the switch, we can enjoy many interesting products, but we can be almost sure that if they are available for other product groups, as they were for cooling, then we will soon be able to press and feel even better, even more interesting gadgets.
