AMD: energy-efficient quad-core next year
The name of the new Phenom processor will include "e".
AMD will start series production of the Phenom X4 9540e in the last quarter, and partners will not be able to get the energy-efficient quad-core in the first quarter of 2009 at the earliest this year. The Socket AM2 + CPU enriches the 65nm camp, is clocked at 2,1 GHz, has a third-level cache of 3MB, and consumes only 65 W.
