Battery recall at Matsushita as well

Matsushita Electric announced the recall of 6000 notebook batteries last Thursday.

Matsushita has not yet revealed the details of the replacement, but it is already known that these are not Panasonic or Sony batteries.

A company spokesman said units prone to overheating due to external influences (loads) have not caused fires or personal injury so far, according to the company, and cannot yet estimate the cost of recall for notebooks sold in Japan between April and May 2005.
