Samsung has quadrupled the data density of its flash memories

The world’s largest memory maker, Samsung, has announced a flash memory with a bandwidth of 60 nanometers capable of storing 8 gigabits of data.

As before reported, Samsung experts are experimenting with smaller but larger flash memories. Their latest development, 8 Gbit NAND flash memories, is sure to be released in early fall.

We hope to see the innovations developed by Samsung experts in practice soon. The best tools for this are portable music players, which usually have the problem of running out of storage space, so most of the time you have to choose between fewer songs - better quality, or more songs - worse quality solutions.

In this regard, it should be mentioned that there was a rumor at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that the new iPod Nano will include such 8 gigabit flash memories.
