Hungarian internet users are world leaders in electronic mail

According to a recent survey by Ipsos, the vast majority of the world’s Internet users, 85 percent, also communicate with their fellow human beings via email.

This form of communication characterizes Internet users the most in Hungary: 94 percent of them receive and send e-mails. In addition to us, email is a common means of communication in the web societies of Sweden (92%), Belgium (91%), Indonesia (91%), Argentina (90%) and Poland (90%). By the way, the use of email is widespread in almost every country - it usually characterizes the users of the World Wide Web in over 80 percent. The only exceptions are India and Saudi Arabia, where two-thirds and a narrow half of Internet users exchange information via e-mail.

Social networking sites are also extremely popular. 62 percent of Internet users are up on one of the company portals, possibly writing on forums or blogs. The Hungarian online society is also more active than average in this respect, 70 percent of them visit and use social networking sites. While in general the age relationships are the most characteristic (35 percent of those under 70, 36 percent of those aged 50-60, 51 percent of those older than them share their thoughts and events on the web), in Hungary these differences are less pronounced and not fully in line with international standards. trend (in order, in the age groups, the proportion of surfers on social media sites: 74%, 66%, 70%). Another, although not significant, feature is the difference according to education: 64 percent of Hungarians with low education spend time on social portals, 73-73 percent of those with secondary and higher education.

 

The Ipsos survey was conducted in 24 countries, surveying nearly 20 Internet users.
