Introductory
I myself use a Xiaomi razor, though not the one in the article, but a more expensive one. I really like it, I think it was a good buy, but at the same time the spare head that can be purchased with it with knives costs more than the machine that this article is about. It's thought-provoking!
Several of our readers asked me to comment on this cheap piece, but beyond saying that: this is also Xiaomi, it sure can’t be bad, I didn’t know any closer. Because of this, then, taking advantage of a coupon promotion, I really ordered one very cheaply so I could finally form a meaningful opinion. Below is what follows.
Packaging and exterior
Although I could say that the price is deceiving the packaging, but it is not. Of course, this makes it unnecessary to languish, it protects the product anyway, and less wood has to be cut down, less plastic is put into the environment, so somewhere it’s good that way. The point is the razor anyway, and that can still be good.
We come with a USB cable for charging, a tiny brush for cleaning, and an installation guide, I think for those who don’t know how to shave with a machine. I didn't look into the booklet.
The razor is waiting for us in the usual milk glass transparent antistatic bag, of course it was the first time that before I looked for the accessories, I slid it into the palm of my hand and even turned it on quickly.
From the outside, the machine itself is just like a typical razor with three circular knives. Its grip is good, not too hard, not too easy, so we feel like we have something in our hands and we don’t air guitar, more precisely we shave air, but it’s not that hard to get our hands off of it.
In terms of the materials used, especially for this price, we can’t be too demanding, and maybe it’s better not to be them. Knocking plastics are waiting for us everywhere, nowhere is a rubber cover. However, even if it is knockable, the plastics look quite thick, the color combination is good, the shape is there too, so even if it feels like it’s not a lot of tens of thousands of machines, it’s not crappy yet, but the images also show it well.
Use
The test of pudding is eating, the razor is shaving. That is, the point is to be found somewhere here, because a razor looks good in vain if you then tear off our face instead of cutting the hair.
We can’t find too many extras on the Xiaomi Enchen razor. It has a fold-out beard trimmer and a button that prevents accidental switching on, and protection against discharge. The latter may be something that will not stop while shaving without cutting the hair yet, but has already pinched it. That would be a crappy feeling. Unlike the more expensive version, we only get one gear for cutting and also lack water resistance, so the brush in the package comes in handy.
According to the factory data, after 60 minutes of charging via the USB Type-C connector, you can use it for 90 minutes (I found 2 months elsewhere). The thing is, I couldn’t get to the end of this, I didn’t have to put it on a charger during that one-week test. If 90 minutes is true, it should last for a month, counting 3-4 minutes of use per day. I find the two months a little frivolous, but if someone has been using it for a long time, refute it if it’s still true.
If you already have a razor, you may be wondering how to shave with it. I can't say bad things, and that's good. What reminds me of this is that when I worked as an administrator and complained to my boss that I was bored and it didn’t feel like I was essentially just going in for my salary at the end of the month, he said it was because I was working well. Well, the razor is just like that, if it works well there is nothing to say about it. Of course, like all circular razors, it prefers short hair, it can pull long. But this is what the beard trimmer is for, which we can cut short first, and the remaining length is already carried loosely by the knives.
The engine is quiet enough, the machine doesn’t bereon, but the truth is that the bigger brother that gets three times as much is a little quieter, or the pitch of the sound is different.
It may have been necessary to write higher, for the extras, but it is more a matter of the quality of the shave that the three sieves and the knives below them move independently of each other. That is, not only is the screen tilting inward when pressed in the middle, but because they are able to tilt in all directions independently of each other, they follow the line of the face nicely.
The structure itself, at least which cuts the hair is the usual system. Three steel knives under the thin steel screens, with eighteen cutting edges per knife arranged in two rows. The structure that clamps the knives and sieves can be released by turning the middle knob, then everything can be cleaned out nicely, and so we can put these parts under running water. As I wrote above, water resistance didn’t fit into this price, so if we want spotless cleanliness, we’ll be forced to take our heads off sometimes.
The razor, at least in this new age, cuts well, and the same goes for the openable beard trimmer. I don't know what will happen in a year, but it's definitely encouraging that we can get a complete spare head for the machine very cheaply, so even if the knife edge goes out, you don't have to throw it away. Sure, as I wrote in the introduction, this machine costs less than the spare head for my own, but even if you don’t have to, don’t throw anything away after a year, just because we bought it cheaply.
Evaluation
I know this article wasn’t miles long, but there’s not much to write about, so I’ll finish. To the question mentioned in the introduction, what is my opinion of the razor, I will now say this:
Savings can be felt on every cartilage of the machine, but the shape, appearance, colors and thickness of the plastics are good. What they add is that they are absolutely perfect for shaving. It cuts well and evenly, does not pull the hair. A beard trimmer is good for cutting your beard to an acceptable length before shaving with a circular knife, meaning a beard trimmer that cuts to a set length will not replace it. The accidental power-on button is a useful thing.
The only thing I think would have been good and is not is water resistance. However, since the headpiece can be disassembled and removed, this is not a cardinal problem, it would be more convenient to wash it just a little under running water without snapping the headpiece.
Reviews in online stores are also very good, with one of my favorite Chinese stores having an average of 4,79 out of almost sixty reviews (up to a maximum of 5), which suggests that those who bought it are really happy with it. No one received a grade worse than four.
To the question of whether the Xiaomi Enchen BlackStone razor is a scam or the shop of the century, the answer is simple, none. It's just a very cheap, but built of decent materials, a decently assembled, cordless, circular razor that's well worth the price!
