Intel is also kicking down on the ground

The new six-core monster, the Intel Core i7-3970X, arrives.

SBE 1_thumb Realistically, there’s no serious chance that AMD’s second-generation FX processors will break into the high-end processor market, but the blues will continue to fiberize their offerings nonetheless. There have been no revolutionary improvements to the Intel Core i7-3970X. Engineers have found that the 3,50 GHz operating frequency and the around 4,0 GHz Turbo Core clock provide enough extra power over its predecessor, namely the Core i7-3960X. There is no other novelty, so there will be no change in the supported instruction sets (MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AES-NI, AVX) and technologies (Hyper-Threading, virtualization), as the LGA2011 enclosure will also be retained. However, we are also looking forward to consuming the CPU.
As for the price tag: the Intel Core i7-3970X is expected to be where the Core i7-3960X now stands. In practice, this means roughly 1030 dollars, ie 230-250 thousand forints. The release is timed by the company for the last months of the year.
