Let's see the counterpart, the product of GIGABYTE. The two pages are of the same order of magnitude in knowledge, but they are completely different at first glance. The CrossHair IV is ASUS and the GA-890FXA-UD7 is GIGABYTE - if we can live with this suta commonplace. One gets the feeling while looking at the UD7 that the GIGABYTE boys want to offer more with functionality, not with looks. There is cooling, for example. The CrossHair IV has a very demanding and serious air cooling, i.e. a rib system, while the 890FXA-UD7 comes with a water cooler block on board the north bridge. If you do not have water cooling, the additional rib set can be applied in the same way as we have already shown for the X58A-UD9. The cooling resting on the power supply circuits also has an extremely respectable and massive effect, its material is similar to what we felt on the CrossHair IV. For the sake of order, a small and design rib was also placed on the south bridge, the system being held together by a nickel-plated heat pipe, which flattened in some places.

GIGABYTE has recently made the number of full-width PCI-Express busses a priority, as evidenced by this model, which has no fewer than six. In the lower section of the area, only a traditional PCI bus is hidden. Of the six PCI-Expresses, two can operate in 16 ×, two in 8 ×, and two in 4 × mode, and the 4-way CrossFireX is also supported, so it stands out better than the CrossHair IV Formula. The back cover is much busier than the one seen at CrossHair, the first to receive two USB 2.0 and one PS2, which can also be used for a keyboard and mouse. This is followed by a column of digital audio with a coax and an optical output. The next two towers are almost identical, with two eSATA / USB 2.0 at the bottom, two USB 2.0 in the middle, and two FireWire channels at the top, the only difference is that one IEEE1394 port is small and the other is large. The situation is similar with the two blocks next to them: two RJ45 connectors at the top, two USBs below them, but the blue ones have USB 3.0 support. Finally, the analog outputs consisting of six jack plugs are visible.

The 890FXA-UD7 also strives to help tuners work with not only quality power and components and a sharpened BIOS, but also physical buttons on the PCB, power on, reboot and CMOS Clear on the 890FXA-UD7 quick and easy. If we encounter an error during overdrive, the two 7-segment displays will try to help us diagnose with an error code.

The four memory slots support DDR1866 modules up to 3+ MHz, in this CrossHair IV is better than 2000 MHz, but this parameter is hardly an influencing factor for a real tuner, as it starts the fun above 2000 MHz at a basic tone, behind 1866 and a "+" sign wants to indicate this.
