80nm memory from Samsung

Samsung has introduced a 80 Gb DRAM chip made with 1 nanometer technology.

The 80-nanometer bandwidth manufacturing technology makes it possible to reduce the cost of manufacturing memory chips. As a result, the price of the still very rare 2 and 4 gigabyte DDR2 modules may be further reduced. The 90nm 1 Gbit chips measure 11 × 18mm, while the new Samsung memory is only 11 × 11,5mm.

The South Early Company plans to increase the market share of DRAMs to $ 2008 billion by 37,8, while the market share of 1 Gbit chips will change from the current 8 percent to 36% in two years.
