500GB disks work in the 1TB Barracuda
High-capacity desktop HDDs have been announced by Seagate.
The Barracuda 7200.12 family features three 3,5-inch HDDs - 500 GB, 750 GB and 1 TB, 16 or 32 MB cache, and 7200 rpm. The hard drives in question have a SATA 3 Gb / s interface, and Seagate says the data transfer rate can be as high as 160 MB / s. For the new type of plates, the data storage density per square inch is 329 gigabits.
The 500 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 is already available in mylemon.at's offer, the Austrians are asking for 49,91 euros for it, which corresponds to nearly 13 thousand forints.
