100 GB mini hard drive from Toshiba

Toshiba was the first to reach 100 gigabytes of capacity in the 1,8-inch hard drives category.

The 100 GB capacity was, of course, achieved using perpendicular magnetic data recording technology. According to the principle of perpendicular recording, instead of the horizontal storage used so far, the data are arranged vertically relative to each other, which results in a higher data density in the same place.
