Plextor PX-750: DVD-RAM support

So far, only LG Electronics drives have had the privilege of the DVD-RAM standard, but Plextor breaks that tradition.

The introduction of DVD-RAM support is an interesting decision for Plextor. The low level of support for the technology, on the one hand, and the increasing market penetration of HD-DVD and Blu-ray technologies, on the other, call into question the viability of launching a new DVD-based device.

Plextor PX-750 DVD-RAM support

The strangest fact is that Plextor has recently announced not one, but a total of three new optical units, all of which are based on DVD technology without exception. An example is the PX-760A, which can write DVD-R media at 18x speed, even though almost all of the available discs can write at up to 16x speed.

The PX-755 is also fresh off the production line: the drive writes DVD-R discs 16 times and has a SATA connector, its only new feature is that it complies with the European Union's "RoHS" directive, which means that harmful substances used in production, for example, it tries to significantly reduce the amount of lead.
