If you are a little involved in tuning, the hwbot.org page does not sound unfamiliar, which is a stronghold of overdrivers, a place for many achievements, and a lot of competitions and online competitions.

3DMark11 X12264 - NickShih on top with GTX 580s and Rampage IV Extreme

The arrival of the Sandy Bridge-E CPUs and the X79-LGA2011 platform stirred the stagnant water a bit, it was expected that it would break some records. NickShih, who belongs to the elite of tuning, also went to work and built his system, which he then naturally offered with liquid nitrogen and aggressive tuning.

The system consists of the following elements:

  • Intel Core i7-3960X
  • ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 580 - 4 pieces (= 4-Way SLI)!
  • 8 GB DDR3 quad channel - 2508 MHz
  • Antec High Current Pro 1200 W PSU

The memories and motherboard were kept cool by factory cooling, while nitrogen was leaking through the LN580 blocks to the four GTX 2s and CPUs. The config received extreme tuning in all areas, the memories operated at 2508 MHz, the NickXih increased the clock speed of the GX580 cores of the GTX 110s from 782 MHz to 1201 MHz, so that the shaders tuned at 1546 MHz instead of 2400 MHz, while the GDDR5 interestingly, the memories remained at their original operating frequency of 4800 MHz. The CPU flew from 3,3 GHz (with 3,9 GHz Turbo Boost) to 5642 MHz thanks to nitro, presumably with the help of the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme (X79) motherboard.

With this feat, NickShih took the Professional Overclockers League toweringly to the top of this number with his X3 (extreme) score obtained in 11DMark12264, the second place Faster could "only" achieve 8842 points.
