There will be no E2007 in 3

The Next Generation website, citing internal sources, has announced that the E3 trade show, Electronic Entertainment Expo, will be closed as it stands and will not be next year.

The biggest exhibitors stepped back from the event one after the other, arguing that this whole fuss only requires a huge investment in terms of money, but it doesn’t pay off. The participants of the show no longer find E3 attractive enough in terms of advertising and decided to spend more of the money to be spent here on improvements.

The future of the trade fair, first held by the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) in May 1995, is completely uncertain, but it is already known that it will certainly not be held in 2007. ESA President Doug Lowenstein is likely to confirm the information spread on the internet in his official announcement today.

It is conceivable that the parent company will later organize some kind of trade fair (s) using the name E3, but in the absence of companies and exhibitors that bring big money, interest and excitement, it will no longer be the same level of event as in the last twelve years.
