Plextor has introduced optical drives capable of 20 × write tempos

New Plextor DVD burners are coming.

Both the PX-860A with IDE connector and the PX-860SA with SATA can manage 2 MB of cache, of course at the same tempo in terms of writing characteristics: DVD +/- R discs up to 20 ×, DVD +/- R DL and DVD-RAM media can be 12 ×, DVD + RW 8 ×, DVD-RW 6 ×, CD-R discs 40 ×, and CD-RW up to Roast at 32 × speed.

Distribution of the optical drives, which are by no means special, will begin around mid-April, with Nero Express 7 Essentials serving as gift software.
