A Washington Post reporter dropped his Blackberry on the toilet after an unfortunate gesture. Of course, seeing the trouble, he immediately fished out the device, but suddenly he didn’t know how to dry the device anyway. He had to figure something out because he still only stores important data on the Blackberry. Well, the most obvious solution was to use some rice. All he did was put the device in a bowl of rice in which it dried out nicely and became usable again.

The method is more funny than serious, we didn’t undertake to try it. Anyone who, on the other hand, has an unnecessary cell phone or PDA that they absolutely want to throw in water can do a try by drying the rice.
