Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny for PDA
The long-awaited Wolf3D and SoD for Pocket PC has finally been released.
We've been able to play Doom's WAD files and various versions of Quake, even version 3, on our Windows Mobile-based handsets so far - but we've only been able to try out the demo of the first two major FPSs in ID games. Now that’s over, because here’s a full transcript of the two games. The new version:
- Supports music (with 3D effects)
- It also includes left-handed mode
- It includes an on-screen toolbar to which you can drag surfaces
- Possibility to load and save games
- Supports button customization
- Supports the stylus partially as a mouse
- Save a custom configuration
- Includes support for Windows Mobile 2003 and 2003SE (theoretically runs on VGA machines and / or WM5 as well)
- And it holds many other major changes
Of course, for full games we will need Wolfenstein 3D and / or Spear of Destiny files - but we can try the demo at any time. The ports for both games are licensed under the GPL. The game is available for download Interior. For the full version of Wolf3D, the data files with the contents of this archive to be overwritten.
