Intel has come up with a very interesting initiative.

The company plans to deploy integrated graphics processors for virus scanning. The so-called “Accelerated Memory Scanning” technique can be used starting with the Skylake generation, meaning a Core CPU with IGP is required.

Of course, the new feature also requires an antivirus, the first of which is Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) - available in the enterprise version of Windows 10. According to the first measurements, with the innovation, CPU utilization dropped from 20% to around 2%, virus chasing was accelerated, while the system's power consumption was reduced due to more optimal load distribution. We hope that in the future, the service will also be available for desktop operating systems, because based on first impressions, the picture shows a very positive picture.
