VIA S3 has two GPU video cards - VIA is also renewing it

VIA Technolgies today announced that a two-GPU graphics card called S3 Graphics Chrome 5400E x2 will be unveiled at Digital Signage Expo next week.

The dual-drive card is designed for multi-monitor digital content delivery systems that support PanoChrome technology, which can handle up to 8 displays. In addition, it is capable of hardware H.264, VC-1 and WMV-HD acceleration. The S3 doesn’t aim for top-class graphics performance, but operates well as a member of a low-power system.

Daniel WU, vice president of the VIA Emdebbed Platform Division, also said all about the project is that they are working to create a unique efficient content delivery system.

The S3 Graphics Chrome 5400E x2 will go to manufacturers in the second quarter of the year.
