Lenovo's smartwatch got real indicators

It is an unusual, yet sensible solution to filling a niche market.

Lenovo's smartwatch got real indicators

There are many who love watches but write from smart watches. Perhaps the main reason for this is that smartwatches have some kind of display for which, of course, we can also download various dials. Anyone who has seen a smartwatch knows that watches that look religious in ads are unfortunately not very deceptive in life. The showy look is more of a disadvantage in many cases because it can only be seen with the backlight turned on and set to a high level.

A traditional watch is completely different. Indicators that exist and move in real space are prettier than their digital replicas, the dial doesn’t need lighting to appear at all and not a dark, nothing-to-see display. And Lenovo's watch is just like that, it has pointers, it has a number, but there is something else hidden under it, more than we can expect from a traditional watch.

Lenovo Watch 9 launched this device, which is essentially the result of a cross between a smart bracelet and a traditional watch. We will find in it all the features that in a smart bracelet, one thing not, no display. Instead of the display, the watch has the traditional dial and hands, and the display of the smart bracelet is our phone. On our mobile phone we can see the data recorded by various monitoring sensors, such as our heart rate or the quality of our sleep, but on the phone we can also see, for example, the values of our steps taken and the distance calculated from it. Due to the lack of a display, the warning for incoming messages and calls had to be silly, Lenovo Watch 9 only vibrates in this case, it does not print out the name of the caller or the incoming message because there is nowhere to print them.

The Lenovo Watch 9 has the dimensions of a traditional watch anyway. The dial, more precisely the diameter of the watch is 1,5 inches, keeps in touch with our phone via Bluetooth 5.0. Power is provided by a completely conventional CR2032 mushroom battery, which operates the watch for 240 days. This means roughly two battery replacements in three years. The case of the watch is made of steel, the strap is made of silicone. According to the manufacturer's data, it is also waterproof, we can dive to a depth of up to 50 meters. Above the dial we find sapphire crystal, which is resistant to daily physical influences.
