Unconsciously, spam achieves their purpose

PandaLabs has discovered unsolicited e-mails that try to promote certain products or services through new techniques.

PandaLabs experts have drawn attention to another malicious technique that has been discovered in spam. The essence of this method is that spammers subconsciously try to influence users by advertising in spam. The new technique used in spam allows the sending and display of so-called sub-stimuli. This has already been banned for TV and cinema ads, but spammers seem to be trying to use this advertising method as well to achieve their goals.

According to PandaLabs, spam that appears to contain traditional advertisements was found in the filtered junk mail. However, a series of images appear in the messages for a very short time (10-40 milliseconds), among which, for example, a "buy" inscription appears.

Luis Corrons, director of PandaLabs, said it was the first time spammers had been discovered in the spam, presumably. According to the expert, the techniques used by spammers are becoming more sophisticated and pose an increasing risk, especially among young people. Luis Corrons said that with appropriate spam protection and content filtering tools, these malicious spam will also be able to be filtered out in the future.
