Eight million forints for university research and training from IBM

Hungarians were in the IBM Faculty Award program.

On February 15, the CEO of IBM Hungary, Péter Paál, presented the professional awards awarded by the company's international jury to university research workshops. Hungarian applicants won this year, and out of a total of 50 awards given in Europe, only three countries - Germany (12), Great Britain (7) and Russia (6) - won more Faculty Awards than at home. Higher education institutions use the grant to fund programs that involve market-driven research involving students, or provide training in state-of-the-art business-relevant areas.

The winning applicants:

Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Department of Automation and Applied Informatics. They are developing solutions that can effectively search and extract information on grid networks. Host: Dr. Charaf Hassan, Associate Professor.

Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Department of Measurement Technology and Information Systems. A standard framework will be developed to automate the operation of IT solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises. Program owner: Dániel Varró, assistant professor.

Budapest College of Technology, Institute of Intelligent Engineering Systems. Service management education is introduced into BSc training. Program owner: Aurél Galántai, university professor.

University of West Hungary, Faculty of Wood Engineering, Institute of Informatics and Economics. A specialization in service management is prepared. Program owner: Dr. László Jereb, director of the institute.

Széchenyi István University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Informatics. An MSc course in “Real-Time Programming” is launched using Java. Program owner: József Sziray, associate professor, head of department.

Péter Paál said that graduates with modern knowledge and knowledge in line with market needs are key for companies.
