The public beta of Total Commander 8.0 is available for downloadThere has been a lot of talk about 64-bit Total Commander, preceded by a lot of anticipation. The first public beta has now been finally released, so everyone can test it now. 

Total Commander is one of the most popular dual-panel file managers, with a wealth of useful features to make your job easier. Among other things, it includes an FTP client, file search and synchronization services, and also speaks Hungarian. It allows you to easily extract archives created with better known compression programs - such as RAR, ZIP, ACE, ARJ, LZH, and CAB.

Some news:

  • The main change is the 64-bit version and related minor or major changes.
  • "Skip all" option, which skips over all non-copyable files during copying and does not stop.
  • In the search, if you find only one file, jumping to the file will work even if that file is not selected.
  • While copying, moving, compressing, decompressing, you can see the number of files and the current and total size.
  • Detailed list of changes here readable.
