Mysterious PhysX card images online
Spy photos of AGEIA's next physical accelerator.
Even if we are really dealing with the new PhysX accelerator. In any case, the images below show that more space is needed to use the new card. Despite the PCIe × 8 connector, a separate power cord is required for proper power supply, and VRM chips are cooled by a rib known from more serious VGA cards.
At the top of the PCB is an interesting connector that could be some sort of SLI / CrossFire solution. It looks like we can now pair the physical accelerators in pairs.
Despite the sizeable core, the cooling seen on NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GTs has been put on the card, which we think is a bit of a fishy solution given the size of the PPU.
For the time being, the AGEIA PPU is hidden, surrounded by Samsung memory chips with unknown clocks. We hope to be able to provide official data soon.
