Following the success of semi-transparent mirror technology last year, the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) awarded the Sony SLT-A2012 the “Best DSLR Advanced” award in 65 based on this innovation. In addition, it is an outstanding success that the prestigious organization has chosen the NEX-7 as the best (“Best CSC Expert”) in the intensifying competition of Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens (MILC) machines. Sony received the third accolade for a high-end photographic accessory, the XQD memory card (“Best Imaging Storage Media”).

The Sony SLT-A65 won first place in the “Best DSLR Advanced” category. TIPA justified the jury’s decision this year as follows: “In the SLT-A65, Sony used the world’s first OLED electronic viewfinder to provide real-time live view. This superior feature (2 pixels) is a real breakthrough in resolution, in addition to enabling a 359-megapixel sensor to enable a camera with semi-transparent mirror technology at 000 fps continuous shooting speed at maximum resolution. ”

Presenting the “Best CSC Expert” award for the NEX-7 camera, the jury pointed out: “The NEX-7 mirrorless, interchangeable lens camera offers professional image quality previously only available with SLRs. It has the same 24-megapixel sensor as the Sony SLT-A77 mirror, but built into a compact and comfortable, sleek metal frame. ”

The XQD memory card received first prize in the “Best Imaging Storage Media” category, with the following rationale: “Sony’s XQD series memory cards easily cater to the needs of the professional photographer. A memory card with a write / read speed of up to 125 MB / sec * can record approximately 100 RAW images in continuous shooting mode. ”
